How to stay focused during the holidays but also enjoy the holidays. First and foremost it is important to remember that the holidays are: A time to be thankful A time to be grateful A time to be in balance and stress free It is easy to get sucked into the craziness of the holidays. How do you stay on track yet still enjoy the holidays, food, and gatherings?⠀⠀
The answer...eat intuitively and follow the 90/10 Rule! What is the 90/10 rule? Honest healthy foods 90% of the time that nourish your body. 10% of the time allow yourself to have treats on occasion but not everyday. This helps to create balance in your nutrition and also allows you to feel like you can have that dessert whenever you want but 90% of the time you are eating healthy foods that are doing your body and mind good! This process helps to relieve the guilt and shame we sometimes feel when indulging or giving in to the temptation of food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ By following this 90/10 rule it takes the angst out of eating during the holidays and also gets rid of the shaming! Need help on where to start? How do you begin to work on living a life of 90/10? Lets work together, start with a 45 minute phone consultation! Check out my programs here ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As for the holidays!!! This is a time to be thankful for the food we can eat without indulging mindlessly! Give thanks to the food you have on your table. So here are some quick strategies to stay “Aware” & “Balanced” 🍽1. Small portions, you can have it all but try to take the smallest portion you can. Just give yourself a taste of the item. Pile up on those veggies! Fill yourself up on the veggies! 🥧2. Eat when hungry not bc it is there 🧘🏻♀️3. Pay attention and slow down. It’s important to be mindful of what your eating and enjoy it! 🥧4. The holiday season runs long, try to stick to one day/week of treats ;) ✖️5. It’s ok to say “No” to Grammie’s Three Layer Cake if you are not hungry. Some people just push & push food on you, it’s ok to pass ;) 💦6. Drink lots and lots of water. This will help to flush out your system and also help keep you full 🤦🏻♀️7. Finally get rid of the guilt. It’s ok, you can always start again. Don’t feel the need to sabotage yourself, the holidays are a time of fun and time to spend with loved ones. . . . . . #nutritioncoach #healthandwellness #healthcoach #cleaneating #happythanksgiving #healthy eating #mindful #balance #organiceating #eatyourveggies #wholefoods #foodismedicine #healthylife #awakenyourhealing #mindbodysoul #saratogany #capitalregion #albanyny Comments are closed.
